An Evening with Hilary Hahn & Hauschka
Thursday, June 21, 8:00 PMThe Institute of Contemporary Art
100 Northern Ave
Boston, 02210
General admission
$32.00
The prodigiously talented American violinist Hilary Hahn possesses a flawless technique and an instinctively razor-sharp interpretive acumen. Her probing interpretations, technical brilliance and commitment to new music have made her one of the most sought-after artists of our time. Hauschka is the alias of German pianist/composer Volker Bertelmann, who studied classical piano for ten years. His work as Hauschka is based upon a playful exploration of the prepared piano. Like Hahn, Hauschka is no stranger to collaboration, whether with more formal outfits or with acclaimed bands like Calexico and múm, both of whom contributed to his last solo release. They are performing together in support of their new musical project, Silfra, an ambitious, free-spirited and innovative collection.
